
Meet Nathan Gerbe and Tim Kennedy at Shaw's Wednesday

Portland, Maine - Fans will have to opportunity to meet Portland Pirates players in the community on Wednesday, January 14. Pirates All-Star forwards Nathan Gerbe and Tim Kennedy will be at the Shaw's Mill Creek from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to sign autographs and give away tickets to an upcoming Pirates game at the Civic Center. Shaw's Mill Creek is located at 180 Waterman Drive in South Portland.
Gerbe and Kennedy were selected for the 2009 PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team last week after spectacular starts to their 2008-09 seasons. Gerbe will start for PlanetUSA at the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications in Worcester on January 26. He recently returned to the Pirates after a six-game stint with the Buffalo Sabres and has 32 points, 17 goals and 15 assists, in 27 games with Portland. He is currently second among AHL rookies in scoring.
Kennedy will join Gerbe on the PlanetUSA roster after recording 5 goals and 23 assists in 36 games with the Pirates. His 23 assists are currently first among rookies. Kennedy made his NHL debut with his hometown Sabres on December 27 against the New York Islanders.
