
Worcester Sharks sign forward James McEwan; P.J. Fenton loaned to Phoenix

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the club has signed rookie forward James McEwan from the Phoenix Road Runners of the ECHL to a player tryout agreement and has loaned rookie forward P.J. Fenton to Phoenix.
McEwan has recorded one assist and 116 penalty minutes in 22 games in this, his first professional season with the Phoenix Road Runners. The 6-foot forward from Kelowna, British Columbia, also has 13 fighting majors on the year.
Prior to this season, McEwan played for the Kelowna Rockets and Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL, picking up 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) and 540 penalty minutes in 208 games. McEwan will wear number 27 with the Worcester Sharks.
Fenton is in his first full season after playing four games with the Sharks last year. In 30 games, the Springfield, Mass. native has seven points on a goal and six assists.
The Sharks hit the road for 13 of their next 15 games including six straight beginning Wednesday night in Philadelphia at 7:05p.m. The Sharks' next home game is not until Friday, January 30th vs. the Springfield Falcons.
