
Albany Swaps Forwards With ECHL's Everblades

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that they have signed right wing Colin Nicholson to a professional tryout contract, calling him up from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Albany also announced that they have released right wing Danick Bouchard from his PTO, returning him to Florida.
Nicholson, 25, has appeared in all 33 games for the Everblades this season, where he had 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) and was tied for a team-leading +10 plus-minus rating. The Dartmouth, Nova Scotia native is in his third professional season and has 48 points (21 goals, 27 assists) in 123 career ECHL games. Nicholson (6'1", 200 lbs) played four years of Division I college hockey for Lake Superior State University and made 115 career appearances for the Lakers.
Bouchard, 23, played in two games for Albany and had no points in his second career stint with the River Rats. The Quebec City, Quebec native made his professional debut with Albany on April 8, 2007 at Hartford.
Nicholson is expected to be in the lineup to make his AHL debut as Albany faces Hershey on Wednesday, January 14th; for a 7:00 pm face off against the Bears. The River Rats next home game takes place on Saturday, January 17th at 7:00 pm against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Times Union Center.
