Rampage acquire Robb Palahnuk from St. John's

SAN ANTONIO – Mar. 11, 2005 – The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the club has acquired on loan left wing Robb Palahnuk (PAWL-a-nuhk) from the St. John's Leafs and in exchange have loaned defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski to the Toronto Maple Leafs affiliate.

Palahnuk, 24, has recorded one assist and 91 penalty minutes in 44 games with St. John's this season. In his 134 AHL career games, the 6-foot, 190-pound Palahnuk has recorded eight goals and eight assists for 16 points with 250 penalty minutes.

Kwiatkowski, 27, registered 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 64 games with the Rampage. The Kinderslsley, Saskatchewan native ranks second in goals scored among all AHL defensemen.

The Rampage (24-34-3-5; 56 pts.) will don special St. Patrick's Day themed jerseys tonight when they host the Cleveland Barons at 7 p.m. All the proceeds will benefit the Spurs Foundation, which will go towards purchasing Rampage tickets for underserved area youth. Rampage center Serge Payer's jersey proceeds will benefit his foundation, the Serge Payer Foundation, which helps raise money for research and treatment for Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS)—a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system.
