
Monarchs Loan Brust To Reading

MANCHESTER, NH â The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have returned on loan rookie goaltender Barry Brust to the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced on Friday. Brust, 21, has a record of 20-8-3, a save-percentage of .924 and a goals-against-average of 2.02 in 33 appearances with the Royals this season. The 6-foot-2, 216-pound native of Swan River, Manitoba is 4-0-0 with two shutouts in his last four appearances for the Royals, who currently reside in second place in the ECHL's North Division with a record of 33-17-5.
A third-round selection (73rd overall) of the Minnesota Wild in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Brust signed a three-year contract with the Kings last summer. He turned pro after four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Calgary Hitmen and the Spokane Chiefs. Brust, recalled by the Monarchs on Tuesday, compiled a record of 76-79-20, a save-percentage of .900 and a goals-against-average of 2.91 in 187 career WHL appearances.
Brust backed up goaltender Adam Hauser in Wednesday night's 3-1 win over the Springfield Falcons at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
The Monarchs continue their current four-game homestand when they return to action against the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. After that, they'll welcome the Springfield Falcons to the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday afternoon at 2:05 p.m.
Ticket Availability: Single seats in the Gold level and 200 seats in the Silver level remain for Friday's game against the Phantoms. Single seats in the Gold level and 900 seats in the Silver level remain for Saturday's game against the Falcons.
