The St. John's Maple Leafs and RealTime Cancer are pleased to announce that their launch originally slated for last Friday, March 4th but was cancelled due to poor weather will bring the 5th annual Coins for Cancer Drive 2005 to Mile One Stadium starting this Saturday, March 12th when the Maple Leafs take on the Edmonton Roadrunners.
Coins for Cancer is a 31-day drive that runs until Monday, March 28, 2005. The Coins Drive is all about distributing yellow and blue ribbons (symbolic of hope and faith), creating a mountain of coin, and sharing a positive attitude message with a variety of school, community and business groups.
"Coins for Cancer communicates the messages of Hope and Positive Attitude and supports RealTime Cancer's mission," notes Geoff. "We are continuing to build our online community of young people dealing with cancer through the RTC Portal and all funds raised in this year's Coins drive will support the growth of our on-line community and the expansion of our provincial school program."
This year, more people than ever have the opportunity to participate as RealTime Cancer Ribbons are at the following locations across Newfoundland and Labrador: A&W, Scotiabank, BMO Bank of Montreal, CIBC, RBC Royal Bank, The Extreme Pita, Needs convenience stores, Pipers, and selected credit unions.
About the organization: RealTime Cancer was established in 2000, and is the first and only Canadian cancer charity focused on educating and supporting young people dealing with cancer.
