Bears fall in Syracuse 3-1

The Crunch score three unanswered goals to win Friday night at the War Memorial in Syracuse 3-1.

Hershey opened the scoring in the first period when Cody McCormick potted a short-handed goal at the 5:48 mark. Eric Perrin provided an assist as the Bears took a 1-0 lead. Syracuse would rally with goals from Mark Hartigan and Mattias Trattnig to take a 2-1 lead into intermission. Hartigan's goal came on the power play at the 12:25 mark, while Trattnig's tally came at even strength at 16:00. The Bears were outshot 14-5 in the period.

Syracuse would score the only goal of the second period when Hartigan notched his second of the game at the 7:02 mark. The five-on-three power play tally gave the Crunch a 3-1 lead after two periods. Neither team scored in the third period.

The Bears play at Bridgeport Saturday before returning home to face Norfolk Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.
