Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Calgary, Alberta - The Prince Albert Raiders were active in the second round of today's Western Hockey League Bantam Draft in Calgary. They swapped picks with the Everett Silvertips, giving the Tips the 27th pick in exchange for today's 37th pick and Everett's 3rd round pick in 2009.

With the 31st selection, they took defenceman Harrison Ruopp from Zehner, Saskatchewan. Ruopp, 6'1", 165 lbs., played with the Balgonie Prairie Storm in the South Saskatchewan Bantam League.

"Harrison is a big defendeman that skates and passes well," said Raider Head Scout Dave O'Brien from the draft. "He has points, confidence, moves the puck well and is probably the most improved player in the province this past season.
