Pats Select Pavkovich In 9th Round

Calgary, Alberta - With their second pick in the 9th round of 2008 WHL Bantam Draft, the Regina Pats have selected defencemen Tyler Pavkovich, 196th overall.

Pavkovich, the native of Abbotsford, BC played this past season with the Abbotsford Hawks of the BC Bantam AAA Hockey League. In 51 games with the Hawks, Pavkovich collected 4 goals and added 10 assists for 14 points. He also compiled 78 penalty minutes.

"Tyler is a rugged, stay at home defencemen that plays with an edge" says Pats Head Scout Todd Ripplinger.

Former 8+ round picks of the Pats include: Jesse Deckert, Todd Davison and Kyle Calder.
