Myles Bell Pats 1st Selection in 2008 WHL Bantam Draft

Calgary, Alberta - With their 1st pick in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft, the Regina Pats have selected defencemen Myles Bell, 17th overall.

Bell, the native of Calgary, AB, played this past season with the Calgary Bronks of the Alberta Bantam AAA Hockey League. In 31 games with the Bronks, Bell collected 17 goals and added 15 assists for 32 points. He also compiled 87 penalty minutes.

"Myles is a big strong defencemen who makes a good first pass and is tough to play against. He also has a heavy shot and good offensive instincts" explained Pats General Manager Brent Parker following the selection.

Former 1st round picks of the Pats include: Colten Teubert, Brett Leffler, Logan Pyett, Garth Murray, Barret Jackman, Brett Lysak and Josh Holden.
