Pats Select Baskerville With First 8th Round Pick

Calgary, Alberta - With their first selection in the 8th round of 2008 WHL Bantam Draft, the Regina Pats have selected right winger Ryan Baskerville, 168th overall.

Baskerville, the native of Edmonton, AB played this past season with the Edmonton Knights of Columbus Squires of the Albert Bantam AAA Hockey League. In 33 games with the Squires, Baskerville collected 18 goals and added 22 assists for 40 points. He also compiled 45 penalty minutes.

"Ryan is a power forward who plays well down low and will take the puck to the net. says Pats Head Scout Todd Ripplinger. "He is somebody who sees the ice well."

Former 8+ round picks of the Pats include: Jesse Deckert, Todd Davison and Kyle Calder.
