Pats Select Hildebrandt With 7th Round Pick

Calgary, Alberta - With their 7th round selection in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft, the Regina Pats have selected centre Matthew Hildebrandt, 149th overall.

Hildebrandt, the native of Rosthern, SK played this past season with the Warman Wildcats of the Centre Four Hockey League. In 18 games with the Wildcats, Hildebrandt collected 13 goals and added 13 assists for 26 points. He also compiled 12 penalty minutes.

"Matt is a player with big time skill. He is quick and agile and is like a water bug on skates," says Pats Head Scout Todd Ripplinger. "He makes up for his lack of size with his tenacity."

Former 7th round picks of the Pats include: Jordan Eberle, Curtis Kulchar, Andrew Reider and Ian Duval
