DES MOINES, Iowa - Behind another quality start from top pitching prospect Quinn Priester and right fielder Henry Davis' first Triple-A home run, the Indianapolis Indians opened their series with the Iowa Cubs with a 7-4 win at Principal Park on Tuesday night.

Priester (W, 7-3) threw 6.2 innings and allowed just one earned run on four hits to log his fifth quality start of the season. The 22-year-old right-hander threw exactly 100 pitches, which is the highest total of his professional career.

The Indians (29-33) opened scoring in the top of the second inning thanks to third baseman Jared Triolo's first Triple-A home run, which came against Iowa starter Nick Neidert (L, 3-3). Triolo's 444-foot blast to left field came on the first pitch of the at-bat.

The offenses went quiet until a four-run outburst in the top of the fifth against Neidert, highlighted by Davis' two-run home run to left field to knock the Cubs' starter out of the game. The blast went 391 feet and came off the bat at 105.6 miles-per-hour.

The Cubs (34-28) got two back in the bottom half of the fifth, kickstarted by the first of designated hitter Jared Young's two home runs on the night. Indians second baseman Nick Gonzales plated center fielder Ryan Vilade with an RBI single in the seventh, and Vilade added another insurance run with an RBI single in the ninth before Indians reliever Carmen Mlodzinski (S, 1) finished the job with his first Minor League save.

While Indians catcher Endy Rodríguez's hit streak came to an end at an even 10 games with an 0-for-4 night, designated hitter Miguel Andújar went 1-for-4 with an eighth inning single to push his hitting streak to 16 games, which leads the International League.

The Indians and Cubs play the second game of their six game set on Wednesday afternoon at 1:08 PM ET at Principal Park. Right-hander and top-10 Cubs prospect Ben Brown (2-3, 4.18) starts for Iowa, while Chase De Jong (0-2, 1.74) toes the rubber for Indianapolis.
