November 6, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Syracuse Crunch News Release
COLUMBUS SHUFFLES PLATT: Center Geoff Platt experienced an interesting weekend of travel that began and ended in Syracuse and included another trip on the Syracuse/Columbus shuttle. Platt started the weekend by boarding the Crunch's bus to Hamilton, Ontario, that night he recorded two goals in Syracuse's 5-3 loss to the Bulldogs. Following that night's contest rather than joining his teammates for a seven and a half hour bus trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania Platt headed north to his home in Toronto, Ontario to spend the night after finding out he was recalled by Columbus. Saturday morning Platt took a flight to Detroit, Michigan to meet the Blue Jackets for a game that night against the Red Wings in which he was scoreless in 8:50 of ice time. Following that game Platt remained in Detroit while his Columbus teammates returned to Ohio. Sunday morning he was back on an airplane, traveling back to the Salt City.
In eight games with Syracuse this season, Platt has recorded 6 goals, 4 assists and 10 penalty minutes. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Platt was signed as a free agent by Columbus on November 23, 2005.
