Rewind:

Friday, MONARCHS 2 vs. Devils 1, SO

In the Devils first overtime/shootout game of the season, Manchester outscored Lowell 3-1 in the shootout to take a 2-1 victory. Rod Pelley notched his second goal of the season to stake the Devils to a 1-0 advantage in the first period. Frank Doyle, who stopped 27 shots in regulation, made another five saves in the extra session before the Devils bowed out in the shootout.

Saturday, Devils 3 vs. SENATORS 2

Lowell took a 2-0 lead on Saturday night and held on for the tight victory in Binghamton. Aaron Voros scored in the first period and Chris Minard scored in the second for the Devils. Rod Pelley added a late empty net goal for the eventual game winner, and his second goal in as many games. Jordan Parise picked up his first career professional victory with a 44-save performance for Lowell.

Sunday, Falcons 2 vs. DEVILS 1

Nicklas Bergfors gave the home team a 1-0 advantage in the first period of play on Sunday. Penalties haunted the Devils in the second, however, as a flurry of minors led to a pair of power play goals by Springfield to gain the advantage. The Falcons tallies came just 33 seconds apart, and it was all they needed to take the two points. Lowell outshot Springfield 24-18 in the game.

In the standings

The Devils took three points with a 1-1-0-1 weekend, and sit tied with Manchester for fifth place in the Atlantic Division standings with nine points. They trail the Providence Bruins and Portland Pirates by six points, as both teams are tied for the division lead.

Around the Horns

Lowell scored first in all three games last weekend, giving them the first goal in nine of their first 10 games. The Devils won the only game this season that they didn't score first.

Rod Pelley had his four-game scoring streak snapped on Sunday. The rookie out of Ohio State had 2g-2a in four games from 10/27 - 11/4. Pelley's empty net goal on Saturday in Binghamton was the first empty netter and the first shorthanded goal in Devils history.

Jordan Parise turned aside 44 shots for his first professional victory Saturday night. Both goals he surrendered were on the power play, and five of the eight goals he has allowed this season have been power play markers.

The Devils have outshot Springfield 94-55 in their three meetings this season, but both teams have scored nine goals. The three lowest shot totals allowed this season by the Devils have all come against the Falcons.
