Wolves Krog Earns Player of the Week Honors

November 6, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves center JASON KROG has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 5, 2006.

KROG registered 10 points (3G, 7A) last week, which includes netting his second hat trick of the year and a team season-high four assists and seven points in Saturday's 10-5 win against Peoria. The 31-year-old forward's seven points were the most tallied by a Wolves player in over 11 years and just one shy of matching the single-game, franchise-record eight points (2G, 6A) set by former right wing Rob Brown on March 24, 1996.

The Fernie, British Columbia, native leads the AHL with 16 assists and 25 points and has notched a point in each of the season's first 12 games, tied with teammate Darren Haydar for the longest streak in the league this season. Their streaks are also the longest to start a season in Chicago franchise history.

The 31-year-old forward joins Haydar as the team's second player to be honored with AHL player of the week honors this season, the first time Chicago has had two players recognized since joining the league in 2001. Haydar captured the award for the period ending Oct. 22, 2006.

In recognition of his achievement, KROG will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wolves home game.
