Bulldogs host Knights, visit Marlies this week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (4-6-0-1) will look to continue their climb in the North Division Standings with two games this week. Hamilton will host the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights (8-2-1-0) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10th at Copps Coliseum. Then less than 24 hours later, the Bulldogs travel down the QEW to Toronto for an afternoon game (12:30 p.m.) against the Marlies (5-6-0-1) at the Air Canada Centre.

The 'Dogs picked up five of a possible six points in three games last week. Hamilton shutout the Albany River Rats 1-0 on Wednesday (Nov. 1) and defeated the Syracuse Crunch 5-3 on Friday (Nov. 3) before dropping a 3-2 decision in a shootout to the Houston Aeros on Saturday (Nov. 4).

- C Maxim Lapierre notched three points (1-2-3) in three games last week and leads the Bulldogs in scoring with eleven points (4-7-11) while being named the 'Pearson Dunn Hardest Working Bulldog of the Game' in seven of Hamilton's eleven games this season. (Oct. 6, 13, 20, 21, 25, 28, Nov. 4)
- G Yann Danis recorded his 50th career win as a Bulldog by stopping 32 of the 35 shots he faced against the Crunch (Nov. 3)
- C Mathieu Aubin scored his first-career AHL goal against Syracuse (Nov. 3)
- RW Matt D'Agostini recorded four points (2-2-4) in three games last week and is tied for second on the Bulldogs in scoring with eight points (4-4-8) in ten games this season
- G Jaroslav Halak recorded his first shutout of the season and was named the game's first star with 27 saves against Albany (Nov. 1st)

- In four all-time regular season games played against the Knights, the Bulldogs hold a record of 1-3-0-0
- Rookie center Dustin Boyd leads the Knights in scoring with 13 points (4-9-13) in nine games this season
- Omaha is currently in second place in the West Division with a record of 8-2-1-0

- This will be the third of twelve meetings between Hamilton and Toronto this season

- In 14 all-time regular season games against Toronto, Hamilton has a record of 6-7-0-1
- Centre Erik Westrum currently leads the Marlies with 15 points (5-10-15) in 10 games this season and is tied with five other players for fourth overall in scoring in the AHL

ALUMNI WATCH

There are 42 former Bulldogs currently playing for NHL teams. Over 60 percent of all players to ever suit up for Hamilton have appeared in at least one NHL game over the past decade. Here are a few highlights of the accomplishments of ex-'Dogs from this past week:
- D Greg de Vries had a season-high two point outing (1-1-2) in helping the Atlanta Thrashers beat Washington 4-3 (Nov. 3)
- D Mike Komisarek had two points (1-1-2) for Montreal including a shorthanded game-winning goal in a 4-0 win vs. Carolina (Nov. 2)
- G Christobal Huet registered his first shutout of the season for Montreal stopping 31 shots in a 4-0 win vs. Carolina (Nov. 2)
- LW Chris Higgins posted his third shorthanded goal of the season to tie a career best in a 4-2 win vs. Ottawa (Oct. 31), and scored Montreal's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to New Jersey (Nov. 4). He is currently tied for 10th in the NHL with eight goals
- RW Daniel Cleary scored his first two goals of the season, including a shorthanded marker, to help Detroit beat Columbus 4-1 (Nov. 4)
