
Pittsburgh Trades Kemp To Montreal

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded defenseman T. J. Kemp to the Montreal Canadiens for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2010 National Hockey League draft, it was announced on Monday by Pittsburgh Penguins Executive Vice President and General Manager, Ray Shero.
Kemp, 27, appeared in 22 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording nine points (1+8) and a plus-5 rating with 22 penalty minutes. He also appeared in five games for Team Canada at the 2008 Spengler Cup tournament, recording one assist in five games.
Kemp has appeared in 174 American Hockey League games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Springfield, Manchester, Peoria, Iowa, Bridgeport and Milwaukee during parts of four seasons, recording 93 points (14+79) and 126 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 60 ECHL contests with Reading, recording 40 points (13+27).
Kemp played four seasons at Mercyhurst College, posting 100 points (32+68) in 133 games. He was a member of the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2002 and was selected to the Atlantic Hockey First Team in both 2004 and 2005.
The 5-11, 197 pound native of Pickering, Ontario was signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent on July 8, 2008.
