
Carolina Reassigns Pat Dwyer To Albany

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced Sunday that right wing and assistant captain Pat Dwyer has been returned to Albany by the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League after playing one game in his third call up of the season.
Dwyer, 25, was recalled to the Hurricanes on January 3rd and played 5:57 of ice time in Carolina's 3-2 win at Tampa Bay Saturday night. The Great Falls, Montana native made his NHL debut on November 2nd against Toronto, and has played in 13 NHL games with the Hurricanes this season. He netted his first NHL goal on November 28th, deflecting a Joni Pitkanen shot past Philadelphia's Antero Niittymaki, and he averaged 8:33 per game in ice time during his 13 games on the NHL level this season. Dwyer currently ranks third on the River Rats with 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) and 13 penalty minutes in 25 games with Albany (AHL) this year. Signed by the Hurricanes as a free agent on July 7, 2006, Dwyer has totaled 128 points (52 goals, 76 assists) in 236 career AHL games with Chicago and Albany.
Albany will return to action next Friday, January 9th as they travel to Massachusetts for a 7:05 pm face off with the Worcester Sharks at DCU Center. The River Rats next home game takes place on Saturday, January 17th at 7:00 pm against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Times Union Center.
