Pahuta Triples Sens to 4-2 Win over Richmond

The Senators increased their winning streak to four games on Tuesday night in Richmond with a 4-2 win. It's the first time this season the Sens have won four consecutive games. They improve to 21-16 on the season while Richmond falls to 19-19.

Tim Pahuta tripled in Jeff Kobernus and Chris Rahl with one-out in the eighth inning. It was his third triple on the season and his 18th and 19th runs batted in. He was two for four in the game.

Eury Perez drove in the first two runs for the Senators with a two-out single in the second inning, driving in Devin Ivany and Sean Nicol. Perez had three hits in the game, the third game out of four that he has had at least two hits.

Paul Demny started and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning when Richmond scored both of their runs, one of them unearned. Demny had his strongest outing this season but took a no decision. Marcos Frias was the winner, pitching a scoreless seventh and eighth innings. Christian Garcia pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his fifth save on the season.

Game two of the three game series is Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. with RH Jeff Mandel on the mound for the Senators against former Senator LH Jason Stevenson for Richmond.
