AKRON, OH - The Cleveland Indians announced Tuesday that righthander Mason Radeke has been promoted to the Akron Aeros from the Lake County Captains.

This is Radeke's second call-up to the Aeros this season. He made two appearances, including one start, for the Aeros in early May, going 1-1, with no ERA.

Radeke, 21, is 2-1, 3.79 ERA for the Captains this year. He has worked eight games, all in relief, striking out 20 hitters in 19 innings, while issuing only four walks. A second-year pro, Radeke began his professional career last season at Mahoning Valley, going 2-0, 4.53, in nine starts.

Radeke was drafted by the Indians in the 35th round last summer. He played college baseball at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. As a junior for the Mustangs, he was 8-4, 3.07, and ranked second in the Big West Conference in strikeouts with 95.

The Aeros roster now stands at 24 players.

The Aeros will continue their series at Erie on Tuesday evening at 6:35. Following a morning game on Wednesday at 11:05, the Aeros will return home and host the Richmond Flying Squirrels in a weekend series beginning Friday night at 7:05.
