
P-Bruins Fall To Falcons 2-1

Springfield, MA - The Providence Bruins fell to the Springfield Falcons 2-1 Saturday evening at the MassMutual Center. The P-Bruins got their goal from Trent Whitfield. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Kid's T-Shirt Night against the Portland Pirates.
The Falcons took a 1-0 advantage at the 7:37 mark of the opening period. Rob Hisey tallied his third goal of the season, while Colton Fretter and Charles Linglet recorded the assists. Springfield grabbed a 2-0 lead at the 17:35 mark. Fretter netted his 15th goal of the season, while Linglet and Dean Arsene picked up the assists. The Falcons led 2-0 going into the first intermission.
The P-Bruins pulled within a goal at the 19:49 mark of the second period. Mikko Lehtonen held the puck halfway up the boards and passed it to Alain Goulet at the blue line. He shot the puck towards the net, where it was tipped in by Whitfield for his ninth goal of the season. Springfield led 2-1 going into the second intermission.
After a scoreless third period, the Falcons went on to the 2-1 victory.
Dany Sabourin stopped 22 of 24 shots for the P-Bruins, while Devan Dubnyk made 33 saves for the Falcons. The P-Bruins were 1-for-6 on the power play and 7-for-7 on the penalty kill.
