Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they will have seven alumni participating in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver starting in February.
The list below is the breakdown of Falcons Alumni participating in the 2010 Winter Olympics:
Olli Jokinen - Finland - Played in nine games for the Falcons during the 1998-99 season averaging a-point-a-game with three goals and six assists for nine points.
Chris Schmidt - Germany - Played in 17 games with the Falcons in 1998-99 collecting three goals and two assists.
Patrick Thoresen - Norway - Was one of the Falcons leading scorers early in the 2007-08 season collecting 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points in 29 games.
Martin Cibak - Slovakia - Played in 114 games with the Falcons from 2001-2003 totaling 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points before being a member of the 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
Branko Radivojevic - Slovakia - Had an impressive rookie season with the Falcons in 2001-2002 recording 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in 62 games. Made the Phoenix Coyotes roster the following season.
Goran Bezina - Switzerland - Played in 204 games with the Falcons from 2001-2004 totaling 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points seeing time at both defense and forward.
Hnat Domenichelli - Switzerland - Spent the 1996-97 season with the Falcons collecting an impressive 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points in just 39 games.
