
Crunch Sign Center Jared Aulin, Release Left Wing Rick Cleaver

Syracuse, NY (January 2, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed center Jared Aulin to an American Hockey League contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. In addition, the club has released left wing Rick Cleaver from his professional tryout contract.
Aulin, 27, has appeared in 31 games for the Crunch this season and is currently tied for third on the club in scoring with 16 points (8g, 8a). In 224 career AHL games with the Crunch, Manchester, Portland, Hershey and Springfield, Aulin has accumulated 46 goals, 99 assists and 115 penalty minutes.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Aulin was signed by the Crunch to a PTO on October 1, 2009 and again on December 7, 2009. He was originally selected by Colorado in the second round, 47th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
Cleaver, 26, did not appear in any games with the Crunch after being signed to a PTO on December 29. A native of Parksville, British Columbia, Cleaver has appeared in 26 games with Kalamazoo (ECHL) this season, tallying 13 goals, 21 assists and 20 penalty minutes. He has also skated in two games with Hershey this year.
The Crunch's next game is Saturday, January 2 when they battle Albany at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
