Ontario Reign's Silver Skaters Announced

ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, have announced that Vincent LoVerde and Derek Couture have been selected by fans to participate in the ECHL Silver Skater and J.F. Berube will start as the Golden Goalie Fantasy Team, presented by the MeiGray Group this Friday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. The Reign will host the Utah Grizzlies at Citizens Business Bank Arena for the second of five consecutive meetings against the club.
The Silver Skater polls opened January 16 giving fans the opportunity to select one of their favorite skaters on ECHL.com. The two skaters chosen to wear the specialty jerseys were LoVerde and Couture. LoVerde leads the Reign with a plus/minus rating of +11 and holds the team's second place spot for rookie scoring with 16 points. Couture leads Ontario in goals, assists and overall points with 54 (24g, 30a). The forward is currently ranked second in the ECHL with 12 power-play goals.
J.F. Berube, the starting goalie for the night, will be participating in the Golden Goalie Program and will don the specialty golden jersey.
Each of the Silver Skater and Golden Goalie jerseys will be made available for bid through the MeiGray Group. Teams participating in the Silver Skater and Golden Goalie Program this week will be available for bid starting Monday, March 12 and running through Thursday, March 29.

The Reign are back at home Wednesday, February 29 for the first of a five-game series against the Utah Grizzlies. The series continues at home on Friday, March 2 and Saturday March 3. The Silver Skater and Golden Goalie jersey participants, Vincent LoVerde, Derek Couture and J.F. Berube, will wear the specially designed jerseys that evening. Saturday's game is the final of the three bobblehead giveaway nights presented by Progressive Energy Solutions, Inc.! Be sure to come to the game early and get your Shawn Germain bobblehead; only the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive one.
