Grizzlies Take 4-2 Trip to California

The Situation

The Grizzlies enter the week winners of three-straight games, 4-2 on their current season-long ten-game road trip and 8-5-0-1 in their last 14 games.

Offensively

Utah has scored at least four goals in three-straight games for the first time this season. Utah is 13-1-0-2 overall and 5-0-0-1 on the road when they score four or more goals. Utah has also scored two first period goals in three-straight games for the first time all year. 37 shots Wednesday in Boise and 35 shots Friday are the top two shooting nights on the road this year. 22 shots in the first period Friday set a season-high for most shots in a period this year.

Leading Scorer

Paul McIlveen continues to lead Utah in scoring with 23 goals and 26 assists for 49 points in 48 games. He is 3rd in the ECHL with 207 shots on goal.

Over The Weekend

Utah improved to 7-0-0-1 when Logan MacMillan scores a goal, 6-1 when Nick Tuzzolino does and 9-2-0-1 when Mitch Wahl scores a goal.

Trends

Dave Strathman has four assists in his last six games, Mitch Wahl four goals and three assists in the last seven games, Paul McIlveen has one goal and three assists in the last three games, Ryan Turek has one goal, four assists in his last three games and Nick Tuzzolino has one goal and three assists in the last four games.

Rinse and Repeat

The Grizzlies open four-games in five-nights this week in California. Last year, Utah went 4-0 during their only four-game-in-five-night California trip November 24-28 through Bakersfield, Ontario and Stockton.

Remember Us?

Bakersfield is the only city that the Grizzlies haven't played in this year on their schedule. In fact, Utah hasn't played in Bakersfield since November 27 of 2010.

Clash Of The Unbeatens

Utah went 3-0 last week, Bakersfield went 2-0-0-1 against Stockton in the previous seven days.

Five-Straight

Utah and Ontario start five-straight games Wednesday in California. The five-game set will revert to Utah for games Monday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 7.

Back Home

Utah returns home March 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th to open four-games in six nights.
