Racing Jersey Auction a Huge Hit

The Toledo Walleye announced today that the team's 'racing jersey' auction held on Saturday, February 25 raised $14,000 for local charity.

The post-game auction was attended by hundreds of Walleye fans and similar to the previous two jersey auctions held this season, resulted in very generous bids.

In all, 26 jerseys were auctioned off with the highest total coming from the Kyle Page jersey ($1,000). Other top bids came from the jerseys of Harrison Reed ($800), Joey Martin ($775), and Kyle Rogers ($775).

Proceeds from the auction benefit the ProMedica Cancer Institute and American Cancer Society.

Walleye Community Relations Manager Cheri Pastula said, "Walleye Fans have been so supportive of our jersey auctions over the years and Saturday's auction was no exception. We are thrilled to be able to raise money for such worthwhile causes in the Toledo area."

The Walleye have raised more $40,000 this season in support of local charities.

The Toledo Walleye will return home on Friday, March 2 to play the Wheeling Nailers at 7 p.m. "Pink in the Rink" weekend will continue with a game on Sunday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m. For a list of promotions planned for the annual event and to purchase tickets, call (419) 725-9255 or visit www.toledowalleye.com.
