Oilers Acquire David Rattray

November 3, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

The Tulsa Oilers have acquired center David Rattray from the Amarillo Gorillas, in exchange for undisclosed cash considerations.

"David is a smart gritty player who can also be a solid playmaker" coach Butch Kaebel said. "He's also not afraid to get his nose dirty for his teammates."

Rattray becomes the third veteran player on the Oilers roster. Central Hockey League regulations allow for up to four veteran players (more than 280 games played at the start of the season) per team. He has played over 500 professional games.

In 2000-01 Rattray played in 70 games for the Oilers, compiling 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points, while amassing 202 penalty minutes. Last season with Amarillo, he had 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points and 179 penalty minutes in 64 games. He had not played in any of Amarillo's four games this season.

Rattray isn't expected to be available to the Oilers until their home game on Tuesday November 7th against the Colorado Eagles, at the earliest. The Oilers host the Bossier Shreveport Mudbugs Friday November 3rd and the Memphis RiverKings Saturday November 4th. Both games start at 7:35 p.m. at the Tulsa Convention Center. Tickets are available by calling (918) 584-2000.
