Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

TULSA, OK -- The Tusla Oilers came out guns blazing after starting the season winless in their first three games. Bryan LaChapelle scored the first powerplay goal. Dan Wildfong would answer on a sharp angled shot from the goal line to tie up the game at even strength. The Oilers would get one more power play goal in the first period when David Beauregard beat Mudbugs goaltender John DeCaro.

The Mudbugs continued to be called for penalty after penalty as Tulsa would capitalize on another powerplay goal. This time it was Mike Wiggins finding the back of the net to put the Oilers up by two. John DeCaro would turn aside a penalty shot to keep it a two goal deficit for the Bugs going in to the second intermission.

Jaroslav Cesky scored in the first minutes of the period to make it a four goal lead for Tulsa. Bobby Davis would tack on the games only shorthanded goal to make it 5-1 Oilers. The Mudbugs would finally answer on and even strength goal by Mike Nason, his first North American pro goal. Unfortunately the damage was done and the Bugs skated to a 5-2 loss.
