
NYPL Announces All-Star Rosters

The New York-Penn League has released the rosters for 2015 All-Star Game in Aberdeen, Maryland. The Aberdeen IronBirds will host the 11th annual New York-Penn League All-Star game on Tuesday, August 18th at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. Over the years, the New York-Penn League has featured the likes of Miguel Cabrera, Robinson Cano, Giancarlo Stanton, Chase Utley, and former NYPL all-star Caleb Joesph.
The rosters consist of two players at every position and 10 pitchers. The team with the league's best record, the Williamsport Crosscutters, lead the way with eight players on Team South, while the Batavia Muckdogs feature six players on Team North.
The host club, the Aberdeen IronBirds will have two players in the Late-Summer Classic. Shortstop, Ricardo Andujar and Relief Pitcher, Ryan Meisinger will play for team South with Luis Pujols and the IronBirds coaching staff at the helm.
The North Team will be comprised of players from Auburn, Batavia, Connecticut, Hudson Valley, Lowell, Tri-City, and Vermont; and the South Team will be represented by players from Aberdeen, Brooklyn, Mahoning Valley, State College, Staten Island, West Virginia and Williamsport.
The Game will be limited to 9 innings (or less). Two players per position, two DH/Utility players, and ten pitchers have been selected to field two teams (North vs. South). Pitchers will pitch one inning or less and are subject to pitch count.
See the brightest stars of tomorrow as the New York-Penn League all-stars make their way to Aberdeen to showcase their talent in the Late-Summer Classic. Head to the ballpark early and take in the All-Star Experience featuring a celebrity softball game, mascot kickball, the game at 7:35 p.m., and a post-game fireworks display.
