MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds shut out the Iowa Cubs to take game four of the six-game series on Friday night at AutoZone Park by a final score of 7-0.

Designated hitter Ben DeLuzio continued his power surge this season, drilling his seventh home run of the year to extend his career high. His blast came in the fourth inning on a grand slam to start the scoring.

The grand slam marks the third this week for Memphis following a 41-game span without a grand slam to start the season. The homer was also DeLuzio's second grand slam of the series, with each coming with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Redbirds continued momentum into the fifth, scoring three runs on just one hit in the frame. Across the fourth and fifth, Memphis scored seven runs on three hits and eight walks. In the fifth, center fielder Scott Hurst plated two runs on his first triple of the season.

Starting pitcher Aaron Brooks had his best outing of the season since joining Memphis. The right-handed pitcher tossed his season-long five innings of work, allowing just two hits and striking out four Cubs.

The Memphis Redbirds (25-21) returns to AutoZone Park for game five of the six-game series against the Iowa Cubs (23-22) on Saturday, May 27 for a 6:35 p.m. CDT first pitch.
