
McNeill Returns to Stingrays

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that forward Grant McNeill has been assigned to the team by the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
McNeill, 27, skated in one game with the Stingrays earlier this season scoring one goal and recorded two penalty minutes. During the 2007-08 campaign, the Vermillion, AB native dressed in 57 games with the Stingrays acquiring 11 points (4g, 7a) and 213 penalty minutes.
A member of the 2008-09 and 2009-10 Calder Cup championship teams, McNeill spent the past three seasons with the Bears appearing in 75 games netting five goals and three assists for eight points. In addition to Hershey, McNeill also suited up with the San Antonio Rampage, Rochester Americans and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
A third round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, McNeill is the only player on the Stingrays roster with NHL experience having played three games with the Panthers during the 2003-04 season. Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound blueliner played four seasons with the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders, collecting 32 points (11g, 21a) and 929 penalty minutes in 260 junior contests.
