Gladiators Bendickson Named to ECHL All Star Team

Gladiators rookie forward Aaron Bendickson has been named to the ECHL All Star Team. Bendickson will represent the Gladiators at the ECHL All Star Game in Bakersfield, California on Wednesday, January 26th.

Bendickson currently leads all Gladiators rookies in scoring with 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in 24 games this season for Gwinnett. He has recorded three power play goals, one shorthanded goal and a game winning goal for the Gladiators this season.

The Thief River Fall, Minnesota native currently has a goal in each of the Gladiators last three games, the longest goal scoring streak of his career. He tied a career best with four points in the Gladiators 5-2 win over the Wheeling Nailers on December 29th.

Bendickson was named the ECHL Rookie of the Month for October. He posted nine points (two goals, seven assists) in four games for the Gladiators during the Month. He also earned a call-up to the American Hockey League with Rochester where he appeared in seven games and notched one goal.

In his four year collegiate career, Bendickson recorded 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists) in 147 games with the Badgers. Bendickson had a career-high 22 points (12g-10a) in 43 games as a senior.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
