December 30, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release
The ECHL announced Thursday that Elmira Jackals rookie forward Eric Lampe has been named to the 2011 ECHL All-Star Team. The ECHL All-Stars will compete against the Bakersfield Condors on Jan. 26 at the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM in Bakersfield, Calif.
Lampe, a native of Madison, Wis., has seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 17 games with the Jackals this season. The Quinnipiac (NCAA) product registered his first professional regular-season goal in a season-opening 7-3 win over Cincinnati on Oct. 15 and recorded his first game-winning goal on Oct. 23 at Reading.
After finishing his eligibility at Quinnipiac, Lampe played in one regular season game with the Florida Everblades, garnering an assist at the end of the 2009-2010 season. In the 2010 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Lampe scored three goals in the first two games of the Everblades' first-round series against the Jackals.
At Quinnipiac, Lampe totaled 37 goals and 55 assists for 92 points in four seasons, checking in second on the team in scoring in his senior year with 37 points and leading the Bobcats with 24 assists. Lampe led Quinnipiac in penalty minutes during his sophomore and senior seasons, accumulating 271 penalty minutes in his career.
Lampe and the Jackals take on the Kalamazoo Wings at Wings Stadium in western Michigan on Friday and Saturday, with both games starting at 7:30 p.m.
