Marty Raymond #1 on Win List as Condors Take Two

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Marty Raymond became the all-time winningest coach in Bakersfield Condors history as the Condors won a pair of games at The Nest. The wins were his 92nd and 93rd behind the bench, and he passed Paul Kelly to move to the top spot. The Condors used strong third periods to beat Utah, 3-1, on Tuesday, and Idaho, 3-2, on Saturday. The Condors will conclude their season-long six-game homestand this week, and are 3-1 through the first four games. Tuesday is the 9th Annual Project Warm Families Coat Collection, and Saturday it's the 8th Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Both games are against the Alaska Aces and start at 7:00pm. Bakersfield is averaging 6,014 fans per game.

Tuesday, Nov. 14:
CONDORS 3 vs Utah 1 (Attendance: 8,124)
Todd Griffith broke a 1-1 tie midway through the third period, then added an empty-netter late to the lead the Condors to victory. Kevin St. Jacques and Sean Venedam assisted on both goals as that line dominated play. Danny Taylor stopped 26 of 27 shots to up his mark to 2-2-0. More than 5,000 school children were present for the 10:30am morning affair on the 3rd Annual Field Trip Day.

Saturday, Nov. 18:
CONDORS 3 vs Idaho 2 (Attendance: 5,143)
Bakersfield broke on top first when Brett Lutes notched his fifth goal of the season in the second period. The Condors saw their 1-0 lead disappear early in the third period, but St. Jacques and Griffith responded with a goal apiece and Bakersfield held off Idaho for the win. Griffith has scored in each of the four games he's played, and has five goals on the season. Jamie Hodson turned away 30 of 32 Steelheads shots to improve to 5-2-1.

Griffith has seven points in his first four professional regular season games
Danny Stewart was activated and played in both games
Steve Rodberg is eligible to come off the 30-day IR
Scott Borders remains on the 30-day IR
David Kudelka remains on the 7-day IR
TEAM NOTES:

The Condors have won two straight games at The Nest and evened their home mark at 4-4-0
The Condors scored a power-play goal Saturday night, and now have three power-play goals in their last four games.
The Condors have allowed just 12 power-play goals in 101 short-handed chances and are 2nd in the league in penalty killing at a rate of 88.1%

The Condors conclude their six-game homestand with a pair of games against the Alaska Aces. On Tuesday, Nov. 21, it's KGET-TV 17, KHTY Mighty 970 & Barber Honda Project Warm Families Coat Collection & Poster Giveaway. Donate a new or slightly used coat and receive $1.00 terrace admission to the game. The coats will be distributed to needy families around Kern County. Plus all fans will receive a Condors Thanksgiving poster featuring Scott Balan, Jamie Hodson, Joel Irving, David Kudelka, Brett Lutes, Andrew Oke, Kevin Truelson, and Head Coach Marty Raymond.

On Saturday, Nov. 25, it's the Teddy Bear Toss, sponsored by 29 The Eyewitness News Station, KERN 1410 AM & Wells Fargo Bank. All fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear, or other stuffed animal, to be thrown onto the ice when the Condors score. The teddy bears will be collected and donated to less-fortunate children through the United Way of Kern County. It's also a Big Buddies Night, and underprivileged children will be given the opportunity to attend the Condors game for free thanks to local organizations.
