ESTERO, FL - The Florida finished this past week with a perfect 2-1-0 record. The Everblades head into this week's action with a record of 9-4-0 (18 pts, 1st South Div.).

THIS WEEK (All Times Eastern)

Wednesday, November 22 at Columbia Inferno 7:05 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades make their first trip of the season to Columbia, SC on Wednesday. The Everblades are 3-0-0 vs. the Inferno this season, sweeping a three-game set from them at Germain Arena on Nov. 10, 11, & 14. Wednesday's game is fourth of nine between the teams this year and the first of four at the Carolina Coliseum. The Inferno enter this week's action with a record of 4-6-4 (12 pts., 7th South Div.) and are 1-2-2 at home this season. The Everblades are 21-11-6 all-time vs. Columbia and are 8-8-2 all-time on the road vs. the Inferno.

Friday, November 24 at Charlotte Checkers 7:00 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades travel to Charlotte for the first time on the season when they visit Charlotte Bobcats Arena on Friday night. The Everblades are 1-1-0 vs. the Checkers this season winning on Oct. 26, but falling on Oct. 28 at Germain Arena. The game is the third of nine between the division rivals and the first of four in Charlotte. The Checkers enter this week's action with a record of 8-4-0 (16 pts., T-4th, South Div.) and are 4-3-0 on home ice this season. The Everblades hold an all-time record of 19-9-2 vs. Charlotte and are 8-7-2 all-time on the road vs. the Checkers.

Sunday, November 26 at Columbia Inferno 5:00 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades wrap up their three-game road trip by returning to the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC on Sunday evening.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

Tuesday, November 14 vs. Columbia 6-5 SOW

The Everblades completed a three-game sweep of the Columbia Inferno on home ice with a 6-5 shootout win on Tuesday night. The back-and-forth game saw both teams erase deficits to force the game into overtime and a shootout. Jon Lehun and Chris Dyment each scored in the first 2:13 of the game with a Columbia goal sandwiched in between to give the Everblades an early 2-1 lead, but the Inferno finished the period off with two more goals and carried a 3-2 lead into the second period. The Everblades reeled off the next three goals over the second period and into the third with Lehun scoring his second of the night seven minutes into the second period and Dustin Johner added a tally late in the second. Less than a minute into the third period Brett Peterson tallied a power play goal to open a 5-3 Florida lead. However the Inferno responded with two goals in the final five minutes of regulation to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime, the game moved to a shootout where Vince Bellissimo and Brad Zancanaro each scored for the Everblades while goaltender David Shantz stopped all four Columbia shooters he faced to raise his record to 5-1-0. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-for-5; PK: 3-for-4.

Friday, November 17 vs. Pensacola 4-3 W

The Everblades pushed their winning streak to five straight with a 4-3 win over the Ice Pilots on Friday night in the first meeting of the season between the two teams. The Everblades tallied the first two goals of the contest with Brent McDonald and Mike Angelidis scoring in the first period to open a 2-0 lead. The Ice Pilots however battled back and scored three second period goals to take a 3-2 lead into the third period. In the final frame Angelidis scored twice to pick up his first career hat-trick and give the Everblades a 4-3 lead. Goaltender Craig Kowalski did the rest, stopping 23 shots including eight in the third period to pick up his fourth straight win and bring his record to 4-2-0. Florida special teams: PP: 0-for-7, PK: 5-for-7.

Saturday, November 18 vs. Pensacola 2-1 L

The Everblades saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday night at Germain Arena. Despite getting the first goal of the night from Chris Dyment on the power play, the Everblades couldn't find a way to get another shot past Pensacola net-minder Michael Mole, who made 35 saves in the contest, including 15 in the third period. The Ice Pilots used a late first period goal and an early second period tally to break a 15-game losing streak against the Everblades that dated back to the end of the 2004-05 season. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-9, PK: 5-for-5.

Player of the Week Nominee: This week's Everblades nominee for ECHL player of the week is Mike Angelidis who tallied at hat-trick on Friday night and added an assist on Saturday night.

Special Teams Breakdown: Here's a look at the special teams of the Everblades and how it breaks down home and away: Power play: 14-for-97 (14.4%) which ranks the Everblades 18th in ECHL. At home the Everblades are 9-for-62 (14.5%) which ranks 13th. On the road the Everblades are 5-for-35 (14.3%) which ranks 17th. Penalty Kill: 86-for-98 (87.8%) which ranked the Everblades third in the ECHL. At home the 'Blades are 58-for-68 (85.3%) which is 10th in the league. On the road, Florida is 28-for-30 (93.3%) which is second best in the league.

Mad Hatter: Rookie Mike Angelidis picked up his first career hat-trick in Florida's 4-3 win over the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Friday night at Germain Arena. The 21-year-old tallied once in the first and twice in the third period to help the Everblades come from behind to win their fifth straight game. The hat-trick was the first by an Everblade this season.

Record Setter: Everblades forward Jon Lehun set an all-time team record when he scored 13 seconds into the game on Tuesday night vs. Columbia. Right off the opening face-off, the puck was sent into the zone and Derek Damon fed a pass from the left boards to Lehun waiting in the slot where he chipped it past Inferno net-minder Robert Gherson. The tally surpassed the previous record which stood since Tom Buckley scored 14 seconds into a game on March 3, 1999 vs. Arkansas.

Upcoming Milestones: Here are some milestones that Everblades players and coaches are approaching in their professional careers: F Brad Parsons is five assists shy of his 100th and is 11 goals away from his 50th...F Ernie Hartlieb finds himself 27 goals shy of his 100th...F Reggie Berg is four games away from playing in his 300th career game and is 14 points shy of his 300th...F Brent McDonald needs four points to collect his 200th and is only 15 goals away from reaching the 100 mark...D Ryan Brindley is just two assists away from his 200th and is 16 points shy of collecting his 300th...F Dustin Johner is two goals away from his 50th as a pro.

In the Show!: Former Everblades forward Drew Larman became the 12th former Everblade to play in the National Hockey League when he made his debut with the Florida Panthers last Monday night at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL. The 21-year-old skated 18 shifts and finished the night with one shot. Larman played in six regular season games with the Everblades last season and eight Kelly Cup Playoff games.
