Marlies Quick Strikes Extinguish Flames 5-2

The Toronto Marlies and Adirondack Flames faced off for the first of three straight meetings between the two clubs with the Marlies earning a 5-2 victory. The Marlies scored in bunches; first scoring 2:10 apart in the first period on goals from Matt Frattin and Viktor Loov. Adirondack would score twice to tie the game, until the Marlies exploded in the third, scoring three goals 2:12 apart. Goals from Brendan Mikkelson, Andrew MacWilliam and Brendan Leipsic would chase Brad Thiessen from the net, while Antoine Bibeau would turn aside 36 shots, ensuring the Marlies victory.
