Binghamton Senators News Release

ALLENTOWN, P.A. - Despite tallying two goals in the final period to force sudden-death, the Binghamton Senators fell 3-2 in overtime to their host Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Kevin Goumas opened the scoring 9:48 into the first period beating B-Sens' goaltender Peter Mannino from the right faceoff circle off assists from Zack Stortini and Brandon Manning. The B-Sens headed to the locker room for the first intermission trailing their host 1-0 despite outshooting the Phantoms 11-9.

Following a scoreless second period, Dzingel put the B-Sens on the board after putting home a rebound off Phantom's goalie Anthony Stolarz pad for his first of the night at the 2:50 mark of the third period. Dzingel's second of the night and 13th of the season came less than three minutes later when he awaited a sprawling Stolarz and backhanded the puck over the netminder to make it a 2-1 game. Brett Hextall forced overtime on a power-play goal at the 8:38 mark of the third.

Despite multiple chances at the end of the third, the teams had to go into overtime to determine a winner. Brandon Manning ripped a shot from the point to beat Mannino for his 10th goal of the year and give the Phantom's a 3-2 win.

Mannino finished with 32 saves on 35 shots to while Stolarz got the win with 24 saves on 26 shots.

The B-Sens head to Albany for a 3:00p.m. puck drop with the Devils on Sunday. Fans can listen live on US Country 96.9FM, watch online at www.ahllive.com, or follow the B-Sens on Twitter @BSens_Hockey for in game updates.
