Charlotte Knights News Release

(DURHAM, NC) - The Charlotte Knights fell to the Durham Bulls by a score of 9-2 in game four of a six-game series from Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC on Friday night. The loss evened up the series, 2-2.

RHP Chase Solesky (0-1, 9.64), who was promoted to the Charlotte Knights from Double-A Birmingham before the game, got the start for Charlotte in his Triple-A debut. Solesky, 25, allowed five runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He struck out seven batters and was charged with the loss in his debut.

The Bulls used three home runs on the night to win Friday's game. Osleivis Basabe had two of the three home runs and drove in six of the nine runs for Durham. Ben Gamel hit Durham's other home run on the night.

In the field, Charlotte center fielder Oscar Colás made a spectacular play, robbing a potential home run in the bottom of the third inning. His leaping grab was one of the few highlights for the Knights in Thursday's loss. First baseman Carlos Pérez also had a solid night, driving in both of Charlotte's runs on a two-run double in the top of the eighth inning.

The Knights will continue the six-game road series against the Durham Bulls (Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) from Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Saturday night. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action on www.CharlotteKnights.com. First pitch on Saturday is set for 6:35 p.m. from the DBAP.
