Knights Drop Friday's Game to Bulls 3-2

(DURHAM, NC) -- A two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning by Josh Lowe led the Durham Bulls to a 3-2 win over the Charlotte Knights in game four of the six-game series from Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Friday night.

Third baseman Jake Burger and outfielder Mikie Mahtook hit solo homers to supply the Knights with their two runs of the night. Burger's solo home run in the first inning was his team-high fifth of the season. Mahtook, a former Durham Bulls outfielder, launched his second of the season with the Knights in the top of the fifth inning. . RHP Jimmy Lambert started for the Knights and struck-out five batters over three innings. He allowed just one run on one hit, a solo home run to Dalton Kelly in the fourth inning. LHP Tanner Banks was sharp in relief and allowed just one hit over three scoreless innings. LHP Hunter Schryver gave up just one hit in his inning of work.

The Knights led the game by a score of 2-1 until the bottom of the eighth inning when Lowe connected on his two-run home run off Charlotte reliever Nik Turley (0-1, 4.05). Turley was saddled with the loss.

The game lasted just two hours and nine minutes, the quickest game of the season.

The Knights and Bulls will play game five of the series on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. from Durham Bulls Athletic Park. RHP Jonathan Stiever (1-0, 3.00) is scheduled to take the mound for the Knights.
