Kalamazoo Wings News Release

CINCINNATI- Exploding for five goals in the second period, the Cincinnati Cyclones defeated the Kalamazoo Wings 7-3 Saturday night at the U.S. Bank Arena.

Earning his team-best fifth goal of the season, Ludwig Blomstrand faked a shot from the slot and then slid the puck around Rob Madore to give the K-Wings the lead midway in the period.

Responding 40 seconds later, Josh Shalla (8th) snuck in front of the net and redirected a Byron Froese centering pass. The assist by Froese extended his point streak to four games.

Flying out of the gates in the second period Zach Budish (1st) scored unassisted 14 seconds into the period to put the Cyclones ahead.

Following a penalty kill, the K-Wings created a turnover at their own blue line, which turned into a three-on-one odd man rush and a rebound marker from Alex Mallet (4th).

Unfortunately for the K-Wings, the rest of the period belonged to the Cyclones. Responding almost as fast as when Kalamazoo scored their first goal, Cincinnati reclaimed the lead 46 seconds later with a tally from Bryon Froese (5th).

Cincinnati pushed their lead to two goals minutes later with a power-play goal from Stephan Vigier (5th). Christian Minella (2nd, 3rd) chimed in with a pair of goals to close out the scoring in the period.

The Cyclones kept rolling in the third period. Michael Quinn tacked on his first goal of the season with a power-play goal midway in the period.

Late in the period, Lane Scheidl wrapped up the game's scoring with a power-play goal. The goal was his team-tying best fifth goal of the season.

The K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium on Friday, November 28th with a special 5 p.m. Black Friday game face-off versus the Fort Wayne Komets on 3, 2, 1 Countdown to Fun, featuring $3 beers, $2 Pepsi products and $1 hot dogs courtesy of Winter's Sausage.
