Stingrays Fall Short to Solar Bears, 2-0

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays (4-8-0-4) wrapped up a five-game homestand Sunday afternoon on Crews Subaru Family Day, dropping a 2-0 contest to the Orlando Solar Bears (10-6-2-0) at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Solar Bears forward Greg Miller jump started the scoring 9:12 into the first period jamming a loose puck under the pads of Stingrays goaltender Brandon Anderson (L, 24 saves on 26 shots). With the tally, Miller extended his personal point streak to 10 contests.

After a quiet middle stanza, the Solar Bears picked up an insurance marker on the power play at 8:12 of the third period when forward Ryan Rupert tipped a drive from the left point past Anderson. Solar Bears netminder Kent Patterson earned his first shutout of the season stopping all 28 Stingrays shots. Forward Jack Downing led the Stingrays with four shots on goal. The Stingrays ended the game 0-for-3 on the power play while the Solar Bears went 1-for-4.

The Stingrays kickoff a four-game series against the Gwinnett Gladiators on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:05 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday, November 29 at 3:05 p.m. against the Gladiators.
