ELMIRA, NY - November 23, 2014 - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, look for the weekend sweep and seven straight wins at First Arena today against the Wheeling Nailers.
WHO: Elmira Jackals - Buffalo/NHL & Rochester/AHL (9-3-3) vs. Wheeling Nailers - Pittsburgh and Montreal/NHL & Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Hamilton/AHL (6-6-0)

Today the Jackals look for the weekend sweep as they take on the Wheeling Nailers for the third of thirteen meetings this season and the second of six at First Arena. Four point nights from Mike Seidel, Steven Shamanski and Allan McPherson paved the way for the Jackals attack as they hammered the Nailers 6-3 last night. Taylor Stefishen, Zach Tolkinen, Colin Jacobs, Ryan Rashid, Jon Puskar and Nick Tuzzolino also added to the scoresheet. The Jackals have now won six consecutive games at First Arena and have earned at least one point in the last six overall contests. Elmira is 1-0-1 this season against Wheeling and holds a 38-25-9 all-time advantage in the series.
Steven Shamanski leads all Jackals defensemen with 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 14 games this season. The Carberry, MB native is tied for the league-lead in points and leads all ECHL blueliners with eight power-play points. Shamanski leads all rookie defensemen in points, power-play points and power-play assists.
