Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

Jacksonville, Fla. - Enmanuel De Jesus twirled 7.0 innings of one-run ball and Austin Allen homered to lift the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp over the Nashville Sounds, 4-1, on Thursday in front of 7,186 fans at 121 Financial Ballpark.

De Jesus (2-1) yielded just one run on three hits while striking out six over his seven frames. Archie Bradley came on in the eighth and struck out the side. Anthony Maldonado struck out all three batters he faced in the ninth to pick up his fifth save of the season.

Jacksonville (26-34) tallied the first run of the contest in the second frame against Nashville (30-30) starter Thomas Pannone (1-1). Back-to-back base knocks by Peyton Burdick and Dane Myers put a pair aboard for Jordan Groshans, who plated Burdick from third with a groundout.

The Sounds quickly knotted up the game at one in the third. Monte Harrison walked and swiped second to move into scoring position. Noah Campbell then sliced a single, which, coupled with an error, allowed Harrison to cross the plate.

Leveled at one in the fifth, Allen hit a one-out double and Jake Mangum walked. After a groundout, C.J. Hinojosa clubbed a line drive single to score Allen and Mangum, pushing Jacksonville ahead, 3-1.

Allen (9) hit a solo shot in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 4-1.
