The Jackals, who fell for the first time since Dec. 16 in Chicago, took a point away from the contest, extending their streak without a regulation loss to 10 games.

Dennis McCauley took advantage of a Jackals turnover late in the second period and tapped in a centering feed from Ryan Cruthers at 19:29, sending the game into the third period tied 1-1.

Denny Urban drove a puck over Elmira goaltender Timo Pielmeier's glove at 6:08 of the third period, putting Reading in front for the first time, 2-1.

Josh Brittain drove home a rebound just one minute and 30 seconds later off a Matt Campanale shot, tying the game at 7:38 and eventually sending the action into overtime.

Tyler Brenner finished off Casey Haines' centering feed at 3:01 of the extra session, tipping a puck past Pielmeier's stick on the doorstep to send the Royals home with a 3-2 overtime victory.

Pielmeier made 31 saves on 34 shots, falling to 7-5-1-0. St. Laurent stopped 33 shots, upping his record to 3-7-0-0.
