Everblades Announce Several Gameday Transactions

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced several roster transactions prior to their Friday game with the Chicago Express. Goaltender John Muse has been assigned by the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) to the Everblades. Florida also receives defenseman Ryan McGinnis who returns on loan from the Syracuse Crunch (AHL). Additionally, forward Trevor Bruess has been loaned to the Springfield Falcons (AHL)
Muse returns to the Blades after appearing in two games posting a 1-0 record, and a 0.58 goals against average, and.985 save percentage in his call-up with Charlotte. The 5-11, 175-pound netminder holds a 5-3-2 record with a 2.28 GAA, and a .928 save percentage in 10 appearances with the Everblades this season. The East Falmouth, Massachusetts native was a standout player at Boston College wining two NCAA national championships.
McGinnis played in 11 games with the Crunch this season going scoreless with six penalty minutes. The Flint, Michigan native has played in 84 career AHL games with Manitoba, Norfolk and Syracuse collecting 11 points (1g, 10a). In 14 games with the Everblades this season, McGinnis has tallied five assists.
Bruess heads to Springfield after recording 21 points (9g, 21a) and 50 penalty minutes in 36 games played this season with the Blades. The 6-0, 192-pound forward has appeared in 50 AHL games with the Hershey Bears from 2009-2011 scoring 7 pts (1g, 6a). The Minneapolis, Minnesota native played three seasons at Minnesota State University - Mankato. Bruess is the Everblades assistant captain.
The Everblades play host to the Chicago Express tonight at Germain Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Friday the 13th game features a Halloween in January promotion called Sweets in the Suites. Children who dress in their Halloween costumes may Trick or Treat in the luxury suites at the arena during the first intermission. Friday is also Scout Night. The two teams will also meet again on Saturday, at 7:00 p.m.
