
Swanson Placed on IR, Aces Add Forward

The Alaska Aces have placed captain Brian Swanson on the three-day injured reserve list, and signed forward Jim Dahl to a contract, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Friday afternoon. Dahl will make his season debut on Friday night when the Aces host the Stockton Thunder and Sullivan Arena. The Aces and Thunder continue their weekend series on Friday and Saturday. Swanson, 35, was injured in the first period of Thursday night's game between the Aces and Thunder. He had played in all 37 games this season for Alaska, and has appeared in all but three regular season and playoff Aces games over the last two years. The Eagle River, AK native has 25 points (4g, 21a) this season, ranking 15th among players in assists.
Dahl, 30, is originally from Minnetonka, MN and makes his home in Anchorage. He has played 140 pro games between the ECHL and CHL. Those numbers include 38 games for the Aces where he totaled 8 points (3g, 5a). Dahl, who played his college hockey at University of Alaska-Anchorage, was the CHL's Rookie of the Year in 2005-2006 when he had 82 points (35g, 47a) and 93 penalty minutes in 64 games for the Tulsa Oilers.
