Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Paul Dainton ["DAIN ton"] has been assigned by the Springfield Falcons of the AHL to the Royals. In a separate transaction, defenseman Ryan Button has been assigned by the Boston Bruins from the Providence Bruins to Reading.

Two of Dainton's wins for Chicago came against the Royals-including Reading's most recent game, a 5-2 loss in Chicago last Saturday in which Dainton made 20 saves on 22 Reading shots. Dainton has also played three AHL games this year with Springfield (1-2-0, 4.30, .836). Dainton, who was chosen as a team captain in his senior season at U-Mass, established school records with 123 total games, 3,226 career saves, and 7,043 minutes played.

This marks the fourth trip of the year to Reading for Button, who has three points (1g-2a) and two penalty minutes in eight games with the Royals this season. Button, who scored his first pro goal last Friday in a 9-2 win for Reading over the Chicago Express, has an assist and ten penalty minutes in twelve games with the P-Bruins this year.
