
IronPigs' Win Sixth Straight Thanks to Four Homers and a Gem from Nick Nelson

Toledo, OH - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (46-32, 19-6) bombed four homers to back Nick Nelson's stellar outing en route to a 5-1 win over the Toledo Mud Hens (39-52, 6-11) on Wednesday night at Fifth Third Field.
The win is the sixth in a row for the IronPigs, the first time they have rattled off six straight wins since May 7th through May 12th, 2018.
The IronPigs opened the scoring straight away as Weston Wilson deposited the second pitch of the game into the seats for a solo homer, his 21st of the season.
Jim Haley belted a two-run homer in the second, his sixth of the year, extending the IronPigs lead to 3-0.
Parker Meadows mashed a solo homer in the last of the third to get one back for Toledo, but the IronPigs restored their three run lead straight away as Nick Podkul answered with a solo homer of his own, his second with the IronPigs, to make it 4-1 Lehigh Valley.
Aramis Garcia ended the homer barrage with a solo homer in the fifth, his fourth of the year, making it 5-1 IronPigs.
Nelson (3-1) spun an absolute gem for the IronPigs, collecting his third straight win. Nelson worked a season-high seven innings, allowing just one run on six hits and three walks, striking out five.
Jack O'Loughlin (1-3) suffered the loss for the Mud Hens, allowing five runs in five innings on six hits and two walks, striking out six.
The continue their series against the Mud Hens on Thursday, July 20 with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m.
