
IronPigs jolted by RailRiders

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, Pa) - Another tough night against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (57-37) as they Lehigh Valley IronPigs (43-53) lost 9-3 on Wednesday evening. The Pigs left ten runners on base and used seven total pitchers.
The RailRiders tagged David Parkinson (1-10) for five runs in the top of the second inning to take a 5-0 lead. Kyle Holder and Cristian Perez each hit RBI singles then Holder scored on a force out. Max Burt scored on a throwing error by Rafael Marchan then Estevan Florial scored on an RBI double by Trey Amburgey.
Lehigh Valley scored a run against Clarke Schmidt in the bottom of the third inning when Darick Hall hit an RBI single that scored Mickey Moniak. The run cut the RailRiders lead to 5-1. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre answered with three runs in the top of the fourth inning against Seranthony Dominguez to take an 8-1 lead. Armando Alvarez cleared the bases with a three-run double. Dominguez pitched just 1/3 of an inning as Brady Lail pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of him.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre extended their lead to 9-1 in the top of the sixth inning against Enyel De Los Santos as Holder hit his first home run of the season. The Pigs scored two runs against Ron Marinaccio in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it a 9-3 game. Darick Hall walked with the bases loaded to score Nick Maton and T.J. Rivera hit a sacrifice fly to score Alec Bohm.
Greg Allen hit an RBI single against Jakob Hernandez in the top of the ninth inning to take a 10-3 lead. Adam Warren (4-3) earned the win for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Zach McAllister made his IronPigs debut by pitching a scoreless inning in the top of the sixth inning.
The IronPigs and RailRiders play at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday at Coca-Cola Park.
